Beer Aging Guide ..
Once beer is bottled it needs to sit for 2 to 3 weeks. Keep away from light and allow to carbonate.
Even though it can be enjoyed after this time it will not be fully developed and its flavour will still be quite "green".
Aging of beer is definitely beneficial, however it is possible to over-age. Storage around the 6 months will see the flavour and characteristics starting to be lost.
As everything in life, the flavour and character of a particular beer is highly subjective, but it is generally agreed that 3 to 4 months is enough aging to develop full flavour and character.
The impact that correct aging can have on beer is very marked - but once again your tastes and preferences should be you guide. Please Note - It is illegal to distil alcohol within Australia |
